I recommend this service yearly for all pianos when possible. Not only does it take care of tuning, but it's a consistent way to improve the playing experience of the instrument year after year. Heres what is included:

The 3.5-hour service includes one standard tuning and one full hour of regulation. While I typically allot 2.25 hours for standard tunings, they can sometimes be completed in less time, especially if the piano has been well maintained. Any additional time left over from tuning will be added to the regulation portion of the appointment at no extra cost. For instance, a well-maintained piano may only take about 1 hour and 15 minutes to tune, leaving an additional hour for regulation—a $150 savings compared to booking separately!

Tuning a piano is like putting gas in your car. You can get by with just refueling for a long time, but if you neglect other aspects of maintenance—such as fluids, lubrication, tires, and steering—eventually, you'll encounter problems, and drivability will suffer. Similarly, with a piano, neglecting cleaning, regulation, and tone building can leave you with an instrument that doesn't perform to its full potential.
